Okay, no Linus. Don't know how geeky this Penguin is but it is definitely a Tagore-lover. Ekla Cholo Re.................
Yeah I think MachuPichu is a good bet seeing as they are planning to shut it all down to tourists(!) in a few years. Smart penguin....
They are going to shut it down to tourists? Really? I am surprised considering the amount of money it brings.
Though personally, I think anyone who is not physically disabled or suffering from an attack of salmonella should not be allowed to use the train. You walk or you don't see it. Period.
how about you walk inside the train?
i got into an argument with my mother about just this thing a few days ago. she said that someone had said that going there and not walking was 'cheating'.
If the train takes three days to get there and you promise to walk atleast some 12 hours all three days, then I guess it should be ok.
Machu Picchu is all about location - there is really no amazing architecture or anything. So I do think if you do not take enough pains to appreciate the location (a 3-day hike sounds just about sufficient to appreciate it), then its not worth it.
(Thus spake she who took the train up. Though I did have the salmonella excuse!)
